Masseter Treatment uses a premium quality prescription injectable product to temporarily relax the masseter muscles, which are the large muscles located at the angle of the jaw.

Overactivity of these muscles can contribute to teeth grinding (bruxism), jaw clenching, jaw tension, headaches and discomfort. By reducing the activity of the masseter muscles, treatment may help relieve these symptoms while allowing the muscles to function normally for everyday activities such as chewing and speaking.

For some patients, relaxing the masseter muscles may also result in a softer or slimmer jawline over time as the muscle gradually reduces in size.

Who Can Benefit?

Masseter Treatment may be suitable for people who experience:

  • Teeth grinding (bruxism)

  • Jaw clenching

  • Jaw tension or tightness

  • Facial discomfort associated with overactive jaw muscles

  • Frequent tension headaches related to jaw clenching

Your Consultation

Every patient begins with a personalised consultation with Registered Nurse Cherie.

During your consultation, Cherie will discuss your symptoms, medical history and treatment goals before assessing whether Masseter Treatment is appropriate for you. If suitable, a personalised treatment plan will be developed based on your individual needs.

What to Expect

Masseter Treatment is a minimally invasive procedure performed in the clinic, with most appointments taking around 30 minutes.

Treatment involves a series of small injections into the masseter muscles on each side of the jaw. Most patients experience minimal discomfort and are able to return to their normal daily activities shortly afterwards.

The treatment works gradually, with most patients noticing an improvement over the following one to two weeks. Results are temporary, and ongoing treatments are generally required to maintain the benefits.
